About Us
| Trips - Again we have not been camping, my wife had a 2nd back surgery and is still rehabbing. It has been a long haul for her the last 2 years and we hope she is on the up side. . We want to continue with a few little trips in the local area to just get away for extended our weekends. Our other favorite place is June Mountain, we have visited this place for years and my wife's family for over 30 years has stayed at Silver Lake. We plan on using this as our little retirement getaway and visiting the places we have always wanted to see. We would like to head up to Oregon on our next trip, around Diamond Lake or even the Salem area. Another trip to the Sedona and Grand Canyon has been brought up in conversation, who knows......We may even start camping at some of the NASCAR races for the race week. |
| Trailer news: One thing that did happen was because of lack of use one of my tires blew out in the driveway. I guess that was a good thing since I was putting it off but now I am replacing all the tires. My wife wants to get back on the road so that's a good sign she is getting better. I got the new tires from EVANS TIRE, I put my trailer up on jacks & took the tires down to get replaced. It was a lot easier than trying to hookup, drive it to the tire shop, (small parking lot), & waiting for them to install the tires. I just took them down & picked them up the next day. Put them on as soon as I got home, you know check the breaks, clean the hubs, & all the general maint while the tires are off. Funny though, the new tires sit the trailer up a little higher, must be better sidewalls than the old tires. | |||

| We seem to have a great time just getting away to a local campground - Lake Skinner. My wife & I take our two dogs and a relaxing extended weekend. Not far from home but far enough to feel like we gotten away. We catch up on our reading and visit with the other campers. We have always had a good time and wished we were still there when we leave. Now that the trailer is ready & all cleaned up for the season I think it's time to plan a long weekend trip. I'm ready & I know my wife is ready. I need to get it in before her next surgery - new knees this time. | |||
| Vacation: | |||
| Took our fiver up to Big Bear Lake for a two week vacation, stayed Holloway's Marina & RV park. It was great, the weather was beautiful, when we left home it was rainy weather, but at Big Bear it nothing but BLUE skies. We enjoyed the lake, the town, and drove into the back country. My new truck ran great, I didn't even feel the fiver on the way up the mountain. Got great mileage both ways and loved how the truck handled. Holloway's is a great place to stay, it's clean, quite, and close to everything. We also drove into Arrowhead while we were there and had a great time. Heck, we were all over the mountain, the two weeks went by to fast. We had a great time back east, visiting all the historical sites. We were in Washinton D.C., Philly, Jamestown, Williamsburg - had a great tour of William&Mary while we were there. It was beautiful, but had a lot of cold rain. But it was well worth it, just loved the trip. We hope to go back again and spend more time in the places we really enjoyed. Where has the time gone, been a couple of years since the last big trip, but darn it, it's about time to do it again. | |||
